New Delhi, October 1: The Ministry of Textiles is all set to conduct Special Campaign 6 from 2nd October to 31st October 2026 across its organisations, subordinate offices and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). The Campaign will focus on strengthening cleanliness, disposal of pending matters, efficient record management and, with special emphasis this year, Effective collection, segregation and disposal of e-waste.
As part of the Preparatory Phase, the Ministry undertook extensive preparatory activities and set targets across various identified areas. The targets include disposal of 57 Public Grievances, 13 Public Grievance Appeals, 55 MP References and 26 Parliamentary Assurances. In addition, 240 cleanliness campaign sites have been identified for focused cleanliness activities. The Ministry has also identified 12,519 physical files due for review and 6,941 e-files put up for review, with a view to strengthening record management and reducing the accumulation of outdated records. As part of the Campaign, a target of 720 e-waste items has been identified for systematic collection, segregation and disposal. The identified e-waste includes Personal Computers (PCs), CPUs, I/O devices and other electronic and electrical items.
Identification and Assessment of E-Waste
As part of the preparations for Special Campaign 6, various electronic and electrical items lying unused, obsolete or found to be non-functional have been identified across the Ministry and its organisations. These items are being assessed for appropriate segregation and disposal through authorised channels, in accordance with applicable guidelines for environmentally responsible e-waste management.
