New Delhi: Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda addressed the MedTech Forum 2025, calling it a ‘key pillar of health transformation in India’. The sector includes the crucial medical equipment and related technology market, where India holds a minuscule 1.65% of the total $1.1 trillion global market.
In his address, the Minister highlighted the sector’s role in boosting public health- through diagnostics, advanced devices, digital health and most recently, AI-driven health monitoring needed to contribute toward making healthcare accessible and affordable to every citizen.
The Minister stated that the Forum’s theme and agenda align perfectly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Viksit Bharat and Aatmanirbhar Bharat visions. Through this Forum, being held at ITC Maurya, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, on 16th and 17th September.
The event is bringing together leading policymakers, global industry leaders and healthcare experts from more than 10 countries across the Asia Pacific being organized by the Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association (APACMed).
“India is emerging as not only a high-volume manufacturer but also a high-value player in the global MedTech market. The next leap will come from collaborations, and I invite all stakeholders to join India in co-creating solutions that will serve both our 1.4 billion citizens and the broader healthcare needs of emerging markets,” Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Smt. Anupriya Patel added.
This forum is being held in India for the first time, where representatives from over 350 leading medical device companies and global regulatory bodies are in attendance, debating all aspects of the sector, under the theme- Swastha Bharat- A healthier India, together.
