Surat: A major fire was reported at the Firestar diamond company, owned by fugitive diamantaire Nirav Modi at the Surat Special Economic Zone (SurSEZ) in Sachin. Modi’s company was sealed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for a long time now and the massive fire has raised many questions.
Sources said the fire broke out in mysterious circumstances late on Friday night. The fire was brought under control by the fire brigade in Sachin SEZ.
According to the information received, the company’s gates and windows have been found broken, so the question is who entered the sealed company? How was this possible in a place like SEZ with tight security? Several teams of the fire department brought the fire under control, cooling operations continued for hours, but discussions about machinery and jewelry worth crores have made the matter more serious. The local police are investigating, but is there a big cover-up behind this fire? Was any important evidence destroyed? The fire has raised many questions.
A fire broke out on the ground floor of the jewellery company of fugitive Nirav Modi, which was closed in the Special Economic Zone on Sachin Road in Surat, on Thursday night, which was brought under control by the fire department. The incident took a serious turn when the fire broke out again on the ground floor late on the night of Friday, January 9. The fire on the ground floor also engulfed the first floor. As the fire became fierce, panic spread among the people there, resulting in chaos and stampede. The fire department teams brought the fire under control after 6 hours of hard work. Everything including documents has been burnt to ashes in the fire.
The fire that broke out for two consecutive days in this company associated with fugitive diamond industrialist Nirav Modi has raised many suspicions. This company has been closed for years after being sealed by the ED. The biggest question that arises is how the fire broke out despite all the connections including electricity, water, and drainage being cut off. Whether the fire started or was set is also a big question.
The fire destroyed the office including the files. The fire damaged the AC, computer, furniture, safe, machine, elevation, stored goods, office files, wiring and other items. The fire officer said that there were no injuries or fatalities in the incident.
