Nagpur: Delhi Public School Lava, Nagpur, hosted its Third Biennial Sports Day – PRATISWARA on 22nd December 2023 for the juniors and 23rd December 2023, Saturday for senior students.
Advocate Asif Quereshi was the chief guest of the event on 22nd December. Before the events of the day began, the Guest Of Honour, Ms Reeth Roopani, Pro Vc Mr Gautam Rajgharia, Director Mr Siddharth Rajgharia and the school Principal, Ms Anupama Sagdeo, unveiled the School Mascot ‘Dolly the Dolphin’. The events kick started with a ‘Joy Rally’ by the junior students.
The opening ceremony set the stage with inspiring words from the school Principal, Ms. Anupama Sagdeo, emphasizing the importance of physical activity and enlightening the proud achievements of the students.
The Chief Guest Adv. Asif Quereshi commended the participants for their outstanding performances. Students from Pre-primary to Grade 3 participated in different kinds of races. They showcased their talent through vibrant Sports Drill Display with their spectacular and coordinated movements, using hula hoops, colourful dusters, umbrellas and pom-poms that left the audience in awe.
The event brought joy and pride to the school community and also inspired the participants to continue exploring the world of sports with passion and determination.
The Chief Guest for the second Day was Dr Atul Vaidya, the director of NEERI and was graced by the School Pro VC, Mr Gautam Rajgharia, Trustee Mr Gaurav Agarwala and the Director of the school, Mr Siddharth Rajgharia. The Mascot APPU was an integral part of the theme for the Sports Meet. The Principal of DPS Lava, Nagpur enlightened the audience about the achievements of the school for the academic session 2023-2024.
The highlights of the event were the Drills using scarves, bamboo, dumbbells and wands displayed by the students of the four houses viz Courage, Service, Harmony and Wisdom. The jaw-dropping presentations of aerobics, gymnastics, taekwondo and human pyramid by the students kept the audience hooked. From the March past to relays and races, the students showcased immense rigour, perfection and enthusiasm. Service House bagged the Best House in CCA trophy, whereas Harmony House earned the Best House in Sports trophy. The Courage House procured the Champions Trophy of the year 2023-2024.
The dedication and sportsmanship of every student were evident in the presentation and display of each performance.
