New Delhi: As many users are aware, Apple products are generally expensive, so some individuals have created counterfeit Apple accessories and sold them in the Indian market. Many people also purchase those accessories just to show off. However, there is a case that has come to light, where some people were arrested in Hyderabad for selling fake Apple accessories. From their base, police have seized products worth Rs 1 crore. In this case, police have arrested 4 people in this racket.
During the raid, the police seized 156 EarPods, 16 Apple power banks, 430 Apple logo stickers, 295 adapter and adapter cover pieces with logos, 61 USB cables, 45 batteries, 95 back glass pieces, and 1,430 silicone back cover pieces.
The police stated that the arrested men were selling counterfeit Apple mobile accessories by printing and affixing the company’s logo and images on the packaging boxes. Initial investigations suggest that the shop owners sourced these fake accessories from Mumbai through various marketing agents.
The police stated that the four men were arrested for violating the Copyright Act and cheating customers by selling counterfeit products to earn easy profits illegally. They added that the detained men knowingly bought counterfeit. Good-looking mobile accessories from marketing agents. After that, they packaged these duplicate products in genuine-looking Apple packaging to deceive customers into believing they were purchasing authentic iPhone products.
