New Delhi: A new melody is rising above the chaos of everyday life in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Thrill Records, a music label founded by Divya Saxena, is making waves in the industry with its fresh approach to discovering and promoting talent.
Divya, who was born and raised in the small town of Rajgarh, took a different path to entrepreneurship. She graduated from Kendriya Vidyalaya and went on to earn a degree in Computer Science Engineering from ASCT. Her career began in the management profession but her entrepreneurial spirit was always looking for new opportunities.
“I’ve always been drawn to challenges,” Divya shares. “When I noticed a gap in the education market, I established Orion International School. But the COVID-19 pandemic brought unexpected changes and my long-held passion to life.”
During the lockdown, Divya found herself reconnecting with her love for performing arts, particularly singing. While she felt it was too late to pursue a career as a singer herself, she saw an opportunity to support other aspiring artists.
“I realised that there were so many talented individuals who just needed the right platform,” Divya explains. “That’s when the idea for Thrill Records was born.”
True to her engineering background, Divya approached the music industry with a methodical mindset. She immersed herself in studying the intricacies of the music business, working closely with young talents to understand their needs and aspirations.
Thrill Records stands apart in the business because of its distinct approach. The label’s first original release, ‘Teri Memoriyan’ by Stanley Chacko and Shruti Agrawal, exemplified this approach by engaging listeners with its emotional depth. Its most recent release, ‘Ishq Mera’ by Aalap Bhat, demonstrates its dedication to diverse, quality music.
“We want to be a platform that discovers and nurtures talent,” Divya says. “We want to bring the diverse sounds of India to a global audience.”
However, Divya is quick to acknowledge that success in the music industry is a team effort. “I knew from the start that this wasn’t a one-person job,” she admits. “I invested my time in curating the right team. Each member brings something unique to the table.”
Based in Bhopal, Thrill Records is not confined by geographical boundaries. The label works with artists and collaborators from across India and beyond, truly embodying its global aspirations.
