Kuku FM files for a confidential IPO, set to raise up to ₹3,500 Cr

New Delhi: Digital content platform provider Kuku Technologies (popularly known as Kuku FM) has filed a confidential Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DHRP) as it looks to strengthen its position in the short-form media economy. The company aims to raise up to ₹3,500 crores in this regard, though further details haven’t been revealed yet.

Founded by IIT alumni Lal Chand Bisu, Vinod Kumar, and Vikas Goyal in 2018, Kuku Technologies has already raised over $150 million so far from Krafton, Granite Asia, IFC, India Quotient, 3one4 Capital, and others. The company is claiming to be near the operational break-even level with its revenues surging almost sevenfold to 1,400 crore in FY26 from 240 crore in FY25 due to a significant jump in advertisement revenues, according to a report by Moneycontrol.
Its most popular media platform, Kuku TV, has emerged as the key growth driver for the company, releasing over 150 original microdrama shows every month with 200 million downloads already crossed. Beyond this, Kuku claims to have over 10 million active paying subscribers consuming content across several Indian languages and has also started to explore international markets like the United States.
Though the company has declined to comment on the issue, it is expected to use the proceeds to scale up its content with generative AI, boost content discoverability, and reduce its customer acquisition costs.
