New Delhi: In a world where financial literacy has long been considered a male-dominated domain, Priyanka Bhatia stands as a trailblazer, empowering women to take charge of their financial destinies. As the co-founder of Women On Wealth (WOW), Bhatia has embarked on a mission to equip women with the knowledge and confidence to achieve financial independence and create sustainable wealth.
Born with an innate knack for money management, Bhatia’s journey began at a young age when she had already saved nearly a lakh rupee by her 18th birthday – a feat that astounded her peers. This early financial acumen was nurtured by her father, a successful businessman who instilled in her the importance of financial education from an early age.
Bhatia’s path had not been without its challenges, despite her impressive academic achievements, including top grades in business studies and accounting at the Delhi University as well as completion of the prestigious 10,000 Women Entrepreneurs program. Losing her investments in the 2008 stock market crash, and having to close two of her own companies, were devastating blows to her.
But her determination to find a more rewarding future was only fueled by these experiences. Bhatia has been consulting business experts, wealth managers and successful individuals in order to gain a better understanding of how they achieved financial success. Her perseverance paid off when she purchased a ₹17 lakh property with just ₹300 in her wallet – a remarkable testament to her newfound financial prowess.
Driven by her personal struggles and a desire to empower others, Bhatia co-founded Women On Wealth in 2011, an organization dedicated to helping women take control of their finances through online financial training and coaching programs. The WOW Money Gym program, in particular, has gained widespread acclaim, offering a structured 5-week training course that equips participants with the tools to break free from living paycheck to paycheck, become debt-free, build investment portfolios, and create a roadmap to their financial goals.
“The essence of financial freedom for women,” Bhatia explains, “occurs when money works for you and there’s no need to work. “If you have money from a different source than your work or business to pay for expenses and luxuries, it allows you to be able to do what you’re passionate about.”
Bhatia’s approach is not only about teaching the financial skills, but also promoting a support network of women investors that can help each other on their way to becoming wealthy. The WOW Money Gym program emphasizes the importance of choosing “wealth friends” – a group of like-minded individuals who can provide emotional, spiritual, and practical support as they work towards their common goal of financial independence.
The impact of Women on Wealth has been enormous, with the organisation serving over 5,000 women to date. Bhatia’s clients come from all walks of life, from housewives and executives to entrepreneurs and couples, all of whom are committed to developing a wealthy mindset and achieving financial freedom.
Women’s impact on wealth has been enormous, with the organisation serving more than 5,000 women to date. Bhatia’s clients are all from different walks of life, housewives and executives to entrepreneurs and couples who have been working towards the development of a wealth mindset in order to attain financial freedom.
Bhatia’s vision of Women On Wealth is broader than personal empowerment, as she sees the future. She’d like to establish an institute that could help women break free of financial unhealthy cultures, through a rigorously designed and empowered curriculum which would demonstrate her constant commitment to fostering the generation of young women who are fluent in finance and able to live independently.
In the words of Bhatia herself, “For women, being financially healthy is a revolutionary act.” She is leading a quiet revolution, one empowered woman at a time, through her relentless efforts and the work of Women on Wealth.
