Solana (SOL) is attracting a renewed interest from traders and institutional investors, following a boost in circulating supply and a renewed interest from traders and institutional investors have boosted its prospects. For Solana, the main lynchpin here has been reports of Morgan Stanley applying for a Solana-focused altcoin exchange traded fund (ETF), a move that could boost adoption greatly. Western Union is also integrating the altcoin to its spot ETF, further encouraging investors.
The crowd stayed focused on the 2025 volatility, I watched @solana enter 2026 by delivering on its biggest technical promise.

According to widely reported research, investors now hold the equivalent of $1 billion in SOL, reinforcing its adoption even as once skeptical investors embrace the altcoin. Though miners have appreciated the cryptocurrency’s speed, many had raised questions about its over-centralisation.
Despite that, Solana has outpaced the broader cryptocurrency market as its price performance outclasses the overall crypto market by 46% since August. This comes at a time when the cryptocurrency market has witnessed a widespread decline in 2025, as indicated by Bitcoin’s fall below $85,000 in November.
Recent network optimizations and its increasing use in decentralised finance (DeFi), Web3 and Non Fungible Tokens (NFT) has silenced critics, especially as its daily active wallets increase to 3.2 million and app revenues reach $2.39 billion.
On January 6, almost 900 million dollars in stablecoins were added to the ecosystem in a day, with Solana establishing itself as a market leader for tokens.
Despite the surging interest, buying volumes remain relatively low, offering new investors an opportunity even as leading bulls turn a blind eye to its potential. Many are now seeing Solana as a viable alternative to Ethereum, especially as large institutional investors start to take notice.
