Binance emerges as one of the top crypto exchanges, sees $1.09 trillion in transactions as liquidity concentrates

New York: As of 2026, Binance has emerged as the largest crypto exchange, having recorded a staggering $1.09 trillion in total trading volume, capturing over 34.9% of market share among the top 10 exchanges.

This trend has signaled the consolidation in trading volumes for the crypto industry, where fragmented liquidity amongst dozens of minor exchanges is slowly ending. Instead, trading is migrating to ‘liquidity magnets’ platforms where order books are deep enough to handle institutional-sized trades without a significant price impact.

Why Liquidity is Concentrating at Binance

According to data by CryptoQuant, Binance is leading the market by cleaning $1.09 trillion in trading volumes for the first 112 days to date, while MEXC, Bybit, Crypto.com and Coinbase come in later.

Binance is doing nearly four times the trading volume of MEXC. This gap has shown how the market mood has been cautious, and in many corners muted, but trading activity has migrated toward places where traders can still move quickly, where the order books are deep enough to absorb it.

The “Reserve Gap”: A Signal of Trust

Perhaps more telling than trading volumes is the choices people make to keep their money. Binance now holds about $152.9 billion in users’ Bitcoin, nearly 73.5% of all assets across 10 centralized exchanges. The company’s integration of the BNB Chain has also created a seamless bridge between centralized trading and decentralized finance. (DeFi).
