New Delhi: Jupiter Electric Mobility (JEM) today announced the launch of its new 10 ft and 20 ft containerised Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) built in partnership with GMMCO, a CKA Birla Group company and one of India’s leading providers of energy solutions to Greenlit, a Mumbai-based subsidiary of Recube.
Developed in-house, every component of this container system is designed and manufactured in-house, one of the few vertically integrated energy storage systems (ESS) in India. Offering capacities ranging from 241 kWh to 3 MWh, these air-cooled, standardised systems come with modular rack-based stacking systems. Engineered for easy transportation and a robust performance in harsh conditions, these systems have been built to meet Indian conditions at JEM’s Indore and Bangalore facilities.
This launch is more than just a product milestone — it’s a contribution to India’s Net Zero 2070 vision. With the demand for such BESS systems set to rise, JEM is helping India become self reliant with such indigenous systems- aligning with PM Modi’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
“With the launch of our modular 10 ft and 20 ft containerised Battery Energy Storage Systems, JEM marks an important milestone in our Battery Division. Designed ground-up with capacities from 241 kWh to 3 MWh, these systems highlight our in-house design, engineering, and manufacturing strength. Built to stringent IEC standards, with certifications in place and system-level approvals underway, we see this segment scaling rapidly and emerging as a cornerstone of India’s clean energy future.” Mr Vivek Lohia, Managing Director of Jupiter Group, said in a press release to the bourses.
“At GMMCO, we are proud to partner with JEM to launch containerised Battery Energy Storage Systems. With our pan-India reach and energy expertise, we look forward to helping industries transition to sustainable, round-the-clock clean power.” Mr Pankaj Kumar Jha, Senior Vice President – Energy and Transportation Business, GMMCO Ltd., added.
“The BESS will enable reliable, round-the-clock clean energy supply and backup, strengthening the C&I industry’s efforts to lower its carbon footprint. Together with JEM, we are committed to driving India’s vision of a sustainable and resilient future.” Mr. Arshad Nawaz, Dy General Manager, GMMCO Ltd. said
