Surat: Deepak Mailk, joint director of ESIC, Surat has said that all organizations where more than 10 employees are employed in the SPREE scheme of the ESI Act should get registered before December 31, 2025, so that there will be no liability to pay ESI money late
Malik was speaking at the seminar on “ESI Compliances under Code on Social Security, 2020” organised by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) in Surat.
C.A. Mitish Modi, Honorary Treasurer of the SGCCI said that ESI is a very important part of the social security portfolio of the government. Every Union Budget has an allocation for social security and it includes ESI. Social security is managed by the government in a policy manner and is implemented by the state government. He further said that through such sessions, entrepreneurs, businessmen and professionals get a proper understanding of the changing laws and rules, due to which industries can function in a more orderly manner.
Deepak Malik said that before 31/12/2025, every institution where more than 10 employees are working in the SPREE scheme of the ESI Act should get registered, so that there will be no liability to pay ESI money later. Moreover, hospitals and schools/colleges were called upon to register under the ESI Act under the Social Security Code and register every employee drawing a monthly salary of Rs. 21000 and start compliance.
Malik further said that the factories/institutions which are currently located in non-implemented areas No need to comply. He gave detailed information that ESI Model Hospital in Surat will start in the near future and ESI Medical College will also be available to the people of Surat.
The session was moderated by Sohail Savani, Chairman of the Chamber’s Labor Law Committee. The Co-Chairman of the Committee, Ashok Mahant, outlined the program. Representatives from the industry, HR professionals, accountants were present in this session.
At the end of the session, a question and answer session of the participating representatives included a discussion based on real cases, which the attendees considered very useful and instructive.
