Hyderabad: Defence Equipment Manufacturer Zen Technologies has announced the launch of its AI-driven anti-drone system aimed at tackling the growing threat of autonomous drone swarms and precision-guided loitering munitions.
Launched on the sidelines of the North Tech Symposium 2026 in Prayagraj, this announcement comes at a time when global warfare is being redefined by asymmetric warfare. Traditionally, multi-million dollar defence systems struggle to detect or neutralize small, low flying and highly maneuverable drones, but Zen’s new system has been specifically engineered to close this gap.
The Technology: Modular & AI-Centric
Unlike legacy systems, this platform is built on a modular architecture, where it can be easily deployed on various terrains and integrated with existing defence grids. It uses deep learning algorithms to differentiate between birds, commercial drones and hostile UAVs to reduce false alarm rates. It uses a combination of RF (Radio Frequency) detectors, radar and high resolution electro-optical cameras to create a 360 degree protective dome. The system has been designed to neutralise threats using either physical destruction (hard kill) or jamming technologies (soft kill) options.
The platform can be deployed onto vehicles, on fixed configurations or even by soldiers in rugged terrain.
“Operation Sindoor exposed a hard truth: drone warfare is redefining the battlefield, and nations that fail to adapt will remain vulnerable. While the world is focused on building drones, the real advantage will belong to those who can make them irrelevant. At Zen Technologies, we have built exactly that advantage. This launch reinforces our commitment to advancing cutting-edge indigenous defence technologies, reducing import dependence, and equipping our armed forces with globally competitive, future-ready capabilities. Our AI-powered anti-drone platform, developed under the IDDM framework with full intellectual property ownership, is a decisive response to this shift. For the armed forces, this means enhanced survivability and mission assurance in an increasingly contested battlespace. As a leading anti-drone solutions provider, Zen Technologies is uniquely positioned to design, develop, and deliver world-class systems at scale and we will continue to invest aggressively in shaping the future of anti-drone warfare technology.” Mr. Ashok Atluri, Chairman & Managing Director, Zen Technologies, said in a press release.
