A 11.7% YoY rise in operational revenues helps McDonald’s master franchise Westlife Foodworld revert to profitability

Mumbai: Westlife Foodworld Ltd., McDonald’s master franchisee for West and South India, has returned to profitability in the first quarter of FY27, driven by healthy footfall and sales across its network of restaurants. For the quarter, this has meant a 11.7% year-on-year increase in operational revenues to Rs.73.6 crores, with its Same Store Sales Growth (SSSG) seeing strong 4.3% growth, the best momentum in the recent past. The company’s operating EBITDA has also increased 11% year on year to Rs.94.6 crore, with a 12.9% margin.

The company has seen its demand remain healthy across channels- both dine-in and takeaway, while the company has seen its restaurant footprint grow by an additional 5 restaurants to reach 482 across 79 cities. Westlife is aiming to grow its restaurant footprint further to reach 580-630 by December 2027.

One of the biggest successes for the brand was its Rs.99 Everyday Value platform, which saw increased popularity by guests looking for a budget meal.

McDonald’s is working to boost its digital footprint, with digital orders contributing to about 74% of sales. The McDonald’s app has now crossed 55 million downloads, with the total monthly active users reaching above 3.7 million.

“We have started FY27 on a strong note, with improving same-store sales and double-digit revenue growth reflecting the strength of our value platform and disciplined execution. Despite near-term inflationary pressures, we continued to deliver sustained profitability while strengthening customer engagement across channels. As we celebrate 30 years of McDonald’s in India, we remain focused on delivering great value, expanding accessibility and driving sustainable growth through our omnichannel platform and restaurant expansion strategy.” Amit Jatia, Chairperson, Westlife Foodworld Limited, said in a press release.
