Mumbai: Welspun Group’s Saudi associate firm East Pipes Integrated Company (EPIC), has just won a game changing ₹1,165 crore contract to supply highly durable Helical Submerged Arc Welded (HSAW) pipes to the Saudi water authority. This order has to be executed within 6 months, according to a regulatory filing by Welspun.
EPIC has maintained its reputation as a supplier meeting deadlines, with its solutions meeting the specifications given. The company has fully integrated production facilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where it aims to advance that country’s Vision 2030 goals.
HSAW pipes are difficult to manufacture, and are widely used for long distance transport of liquid commodities like oil, water and gas. For Welspun, this marks yet another achievement in its aim to showcase India’s growth in the global engineering supply chain, and investors took notice of this.
Welspun has reported a strong quarterly performance for the September quarter, with its net profit rising 57% to ₹443.71 crore, mostly driven by higher revenues from its core steel products. The company has an overall order value of about ₹23,500 crore as at September 2025, according to its latest investor presentation.
Following the announcement, Welspun’s shares increased from ₹805 to ₹817 before stabilising later. The company’s shares have fallen 15% over the past six months.
