New Delhi: Vijaypat Singhania, the former head of Raymond Group, has dismissed rumors of a reconciliation with his estranged son, Gautam Singhania, despite a recent viral photo showing them together.
In an exclusive interview, Vijaypat Singhania clarified the circumstances surrounding the widely circulated photograph. He disclosed that Gautam had invited him for a brief meeting ostensibly for a cup of coffee.
“Gautam Singhania’s assistant persistently urged me to visit their residence. Despite my initial reluctance, I eventually agreed. However, it became apparent that the purpose was to capture a photograph of us together,” Vijaypat Singhania explained.
The image, shared by Gautam Singhania on social media, portrayed a seemingly cordial moment between father and son, sparking speculation of a reconciliation. Nonetheless, Vijaypat Singhania rejected these suggestions, stressing that the meeting did not signify a resolution of their longstanding differences.
Expressing doubts about Gautam’s intentions, Vijaypat Singhania remarked, “I’m uncertain about the true motive behind the encounter. It certainly wasn’t about reconciling our differences. This was my first visit to JK House in a decade, and I don’t foresee a repeat.”
The relationship between Vijaypat Singhania and Gautam:
Soured after Vijaypat stepped down as chairman of Raymond Group in 2015, passing the leadership to his son. Tensions escalated further in 2017 when Vijaypat Singhania claimed he was denied a duplex at JK House, the family-owned property in South Mumbai.
The family drama garnered public attention last November when Gautam Singhania and his wife, Nawaz Modi Singhania, announced their separation. Nawaz later accused Gautam of preventing her from attending a Diwali celebration and subsequently accused him of physical abuse.
