Hyderabad: Viceroy Hotels Limited has approved the acquisition of Hyderabad-based SLN Terminus Hotels and Resorts, thereby strengthening its presence in the city’s key Gachibowli area. The acquisition involves acquiring a 75-room hotel in a mixed-use development linked to Viceroy’s director S Prabhaker Reddy. The property is currently operated under a Marriott-linked brand, as per regulatory disclosures.
The acquisition is a related-party transaction and is aimed at strengthening the company’s market presence and asset base. Viceroy currently has two hotels in Hyderabad. According to a regulatory filing, SLN Terminus Hotel has a turnover of Rs. 43.45 crore with a net profit of Rs.5.98 crore. The hotel is worth about Rs.86.4 crore. Viceroy will pay Rs.206 crore for the property. The transaction is expected to be completed within one year of the approval.
Viceroy Hotels has been focusing on branded, upscale properties. It has collaborated with leading international hotel brands, positioning itself as an organised player in the high-end segment of the domestic hospitality market. The small-cap company currently has a market cap of about Rs.953.54 crores.
The company’s shares have been on the rise in the last three years, moving from a penny stock to seeing a price appreciation of about 5,049% since 2023. Its shares were trading at Rs.141.10 a piece on December 26, with this development expected to affect the share price.
