Union Budget 2026-27 all set to be introduced on February 1, 2026

New Delhi: The Central Government is all set to present the Unio Budget for 2026-27 on Febuary 1,2026, continuing the tradition of introducing the annual financial statement on the first day of Febuary, though an official confirmation is yet to come. The tradition was started by then Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in 2017, ensuring that the entire budget-making process was completed before the financial year started.

February 1 falls on a Sunday, and many were wondering if Parliament will conduct the budget session on that day.  Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that no decision has been taken yet, and the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs will take a decision in due course.

Just as last year, the finance ministry has invited ideas and suggestions from citizens, experts and stakeholders on the MyGov portal, encouraging a greater public participation in the budget-making process.

Following the announcement, many netizens publicly expressed their wishes-

“Inclusive growth comes with less compliance, no pestering on tax payers,Tax rates should be bought down to 20% max, remove STT n reduce capital gains Tax, stop freebies slowly, encourage enterprenuership, less rates more revenue to govt, real estate prices to be bridged.”  another wished.
