New Delhi: Thermax Ltd, headquartered in Pune, intends to allocate approximately ₹1,000 crore towards various initiatives in Gujarat within the next year. The investments will encompass the establishment of renewable energy infrastructure, the development of biomass-based build-own-operate customer plants, and enhancements to existing chemical facilities. Ashish Bhandari, the Managing Director and CEO of Thermax Ltd, disclosed plans for these investments, highlighting the company’s commitment to Gujarat where it currently employs around 2,500 individuals.

The company operates four manufacturing sites in Savli, Jhagadia, Dahej, and Mundra within the state. Notably, a significant portion of the investments will be directed towards the construction of a large ion exchange resin manufacturing facility in Jhagadia, with an additional ₹45 crore being infused into the ongoing project estimated at ₹250 crore.

Thermax Ltd’s Gujarat facilities primarily cater to international markets, with products such as boilers, resins, water treatment and construction chemicals, and petrochemical plants being exported from locations like Dahej and Mundra. The Savli and Jhagadia plants specialize in the production of both small and large boilers and various chemicals, aligning with the company’s diversified export portfolio.
