The8W: A brand with an impact
New Delhi: In an industry driven by speed and excess, The8W chooses restraint, responsibility, and intention.
Born as a sustainable clothing label, The8W stands at the intersection of ethical fashion, material innovation, and timeless design—proving that luxury does not need to come at the cost of the planet.
Founded by Shriya Saxena, The8W is built on a simple yet powerful belief: what we wear should respect both the body and the Earth.
A New Language of Sustainable Fashion
The8W designs apparel using:
- 60% recycled plastic bottles, transformed into high-performance fabrics
- Up-cycled cotton, extending the lifecycle of existing textiles
- No chemical dyes, significantly reducing water pollution and toxic waste
- Responsible production practices, focused on longevity over trends
Each garment reflects a commitment to circularity—where waste is not discarded, but redesigned.
“Sustainability is not a feature at The8W. It is the foundation. If a product cannot justify its existence to the planet, it deserves to be reimagined more responsibly.”
— Shriya Saxena, Founder, The8W
Founder Story: From Conscious Consumer to Purpose-Led Creator
Shriya’s journey into sustainable fashion began not as a business ambition, but as a personal reckoning.
Like many modern consumers, she questioned the hidden cost behind everyday clothing—water waste, chemical dyes, discarded fabrics, and plastic choking ecosystems. What disturbed her most was how normalised this damage had become. Learned entrepreneurship from IIT DELHI STARTUP BOOTCAMP and learned e-commerce business from INSTITUTE FOR INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT, and gained exposure with other Startup Ecosystems, she developed a brand addressing an impact.
Instead of choosing silence, she chose responsibility.
“I realised that fashion didn’t need more designs. It needed better decisions. That awareness became the seed of The8W.”
— Founder
The8W was created to challenge the idea that sustainability is niche, expensive, or restrictive. The brand demonstrates that ethical choices can coexist with comfort, durability, and modern aesthetics.
The Meaning Behind The8W
The name The8W symbolises infinite cycles, mirroring the circular philosophy the brand stands for.
- 8 represents continuity, regeneration, and balance
- W represents Wear, Well-being, Waste reduction, and the World
“The future of fashion is circular. What we take must return—renewed, not ruined.”
— Shriya Saxena
Design Philosophy: Quiet, Responsible, Timeless
The8W rejects fast fashion’s noise.
The designs portray the latest trends with colours and a comfort approach. They carry the modern vibe.
The fabrics tell a story of transformation—from discarded plastic bottles and unused cotton into refined essentials.
This is fashion for those who care not just about how they look, but what their choices stand for.
“True luxury is knowing your clothes didn’t harm someone else’s future.”
— Founder, The8W
USP: Where Innovation Meets Integrity
What sets The8W apart is not a single feature, but an ecosystem of conscious decisions:
- Plastic waste diverted from landfills and oceans
- Reduced reliance on virgin raw materials
- Elimination of chemical dyes from the supply chain; organic means of production.
- Focus on durability, not disposability
- Organic cotton – aligning to process chain sustainability
Each product is designed to last—both physically and philosophically.
The The8W Consumer
The8W speaks to a globally aware generation that no longer separates style from responsibility.
The The8W consumer is curious, informed, and values-led. They understand the impact of what they wear—and choose consciously in a world of excess. For them, fashion is not about fast trends or loud branding, but about meaning, materials, and mindset.
They are Gen Z and modern millennials who:
- Care about climate, ethics, and transparency
- Prefer fewer, better-made pieces
- Value brands that take accountability, not shortcuts
- See sustainability as a lifestyle, not a label
This is a generation that researches before buying, questions supply chains, and expects brands to do better—not just look better.
“The next generation isn’t impressed by claims. They want proof, values, and honesty. That’s who we design for.”
— Shriya Saxena, Founder, The8W
The The8W consumer wears clothing as an extension of their values—quietly confident, globally conscious, and future-focused. They don’t follow trends; they influence culture through awareness.

Looking Ahead: Fashion With Accountability
The8W envisions a future where sustainability is not an alternative category—but the standard.
The brand is committed to:
- Advancing recycled and up-cycled material innovation
- Increasing transparency across sourcing and production
- Educating consumers through conscious storytelling
- Building a global community around responsible living
“If fashion once shaped culture, it can reshape responsibility.”
— Founder, The8W
