TCS and TPG Announce Big 18000 Cr AI Data Centre Deal

New Delhi: The tech world in India is abuzz after TCS and TPG announced a whopping ₹18,000 crore deal to build advanced artificial intelligence data centres across the country. This is one of the biggest investments in India’s technology sector this year and shows how fast artificial intelligence is growing.

According to TCS, one of the biggest IT companies in India, this partnership will help Indian businesses implement AI much faster. The new data centres will support AI training, cloud services, machine learning projects, and high-performance computing. In other words, companies can now leverage AI in an easier and quicker way.

According to TPG, a worldwide investment firm, India is ready to become a world leader in AI. Its huge population of young engineers, large digital usage, and growth of businesses provide a perfect market for such a giant tech project.

Experts say that this deal will bring many positive changes: first, thousands of new job opportunities will be opened, especially for engineers, data scientists, and IT technicians; second, it will reduce India’s dependence on foreign cloud companies. Instead of relying on global platforms only, Indian companies will have their advanced infrastructure.

The deal will also contribute to modernizing the government departments. From healthcare to agriculture, AI tools can make systems faster and smarter. With strong data centres in India, sensitive information can stay within the country, improving safety and privacy.

Very soon, TCS plans to initiate the construction of data centres in key cities such as Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. Although the entire project may take a few years, the work will commence immediately.
