Mumbai: Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWREL) has been awarded Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) orders worth ₹3,550 crore. This includes a massive 875MW solar PV plant in Bikaner, Rajasthan and another 50 MW AC project in Maharashtra.
These new orders have helped boost the company’s order book, which is worth ₹10,062 crore in FY26. In November, the company announced its 4th turnkey solar power project in South Africa, as it has been looking to expand its order book gradually.
Reaching the ₹10,000 Crore Milestone
Crossing the ₹10,000 crore order book threshold has helped validate SWREL’s growth strategy. The company has been focusing on bidding for high-margin EPC contracts as it looks to cement its place as a reliable infrastructure provider to benefit from India’s goal of reaching 500GW of renewable energy generation by 2030.
“We are delighted to announce our first project from Coal India, and to partner in their renewable energy growth story. We are excited to close an eventful FY26 on a strong note and achieve more than INR 10,000 crore in EPC order inflows, which is significantly higher than our initial target set for the year. India continues to remain on a strong growth trajectory in renewable development and as one of India’s leading solar EPC companies, we continue to look forward to sustaining the growth momentum.” Mr. Chandra Kishore Thakur, Global CEO, Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Group, said in a press release.
Following the news, SWREL’s shares were trading at ₹22.94 at 11.30 AM on April 20, rising 14% from the previous close.
