Here, small businesses were sold counterfeit or defective software. There were reports of wrong tax information, disguised costs, and even abusing customer data by the users. Some of the businesses have gone through financial losses as a result of incorrect billing records.
The experts believe that small enterprises tend to unfairly select cheap software without verifying the credibility of the software. This exposes them to become targets of fraud. It is recommended that cyber experts recommend relevant software companies and ensure that there are official certifications that are done by the businesses.
The case has brought up concerns on digital safety and trust. To secure the small businesses, the government can initiate new tougher regulations.
