Surat: SITME 2026 organised jointly by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) and Surat Embroidery Association has attracted investment of over Rs 850 crore in advanced textile machinery including embroidery.
SITME exhibition received an overwhelming response from the exhibitors as more than 39,000 buyers and visitors from across the country.
SGCCI president Nikhil Madrasi said that the SITME exhibition witnessed a rush of buyers from the first day itself. On the first day, 7082, on the second day 11786, on the third day 180 and today, on the fourth day 4860 were received. A total of 39008 buyers, traders and businessmen visited CITME in four days and made it a grand success.
Around 200 machines of 100 brands of textile machinery including embroidery were displayed in the SITME exhibition. Machinery ranging from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 60 lakh was exhibited in this exhibition, in which 60 participating exhibitors were informed that they would get orders for 28 to 30 machines in the next one to two months.
According to an exhibitor, he had put up four advanced embroidery machines for display at his stall. These included machines worth Rs 25 lakh, Rs 40 lakh and Rs 60 lakh. Due to participating in this exhibition, he came into direct contact with buyers from different cities of the country, due to which he will get orders for a total of 25 machines in a month or so, according to the genuine inquiries generated for his machinery.
Every year, new technology is being upgraded in embroidery machinery and digital printing machinery. Industrialists with old machinery are now investing in new technology, hence the hope of selling thousands of new machines in the next six months was expressed by the exhibitors. Due to which the garment industry in Surat will get more momentum to develop. Textile industrialists are selling their products in the domestic market but now they are moving towards exporting the products to the global market. Hence genuine buyers from all over the country came to visit the exhibition.
