Saatvik Green Energy Commissions In-House Solar PV EPE film manufacturing plant

Ambala, Haryana: Saatvik Green Energy Limited (SGEL), a fully integrated renewable energy manufacturing company, has commissioned a 2GW in-house solar PV EPE (Protective Encapsulant) film manufacturing facility, one of the few in India’s domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem. This development is aimed at supporting PM Modi’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat ambition, extending SGEL’s manufacturing capabilities.

The newly commissioned plant is located at its campus at Ambala, Haryana, near its module manufacturing complex. With this plant, SGEL can reduce its dependence on imported solar components, improving its supply chain resilience and gaining tighter control over its quality and cost structures. EPE films are a critical component for manufacturing solar PV modules, enabling long-term durability, maintaining electrical insulation and keep up the adhesion between the layers. With the EPE films, SGEL can now gain direct oversight in the manufacturing process, including material formulation, lamination performance and optical properties across its entire module portfolio.

“The commissioning of the 2 GW EPE film facility marks an important step in Saatvik’s broader roadmap toward fully integrated solar manufacturing. By localizing critical components and deepening vertical integration, the company continues to build a robust domestic value chain that supports India’s clean-energy transition and long-term energy Security.” Mr. Prashant Mathur, CEO, Saatvik Green Energy Limited, said in a press release.

“The strategic location of the EPE line within the same manufacturing premises delivers significant operational advantages. Near-zero transport time between encapsulant production and module lamination enables just-in-time material supply, eliminates inter-facility logistics delays, and supports lean manufacturing practices. This integration improves shop-floor productivity, enhances equipment uptime, and ensures seamless production flow across the module assembly process.” he added.
