New Delhi: One of India’s renowned business groups, Godrej Industries Group’s leadership has undergone a significant transformation with Pirojsha Godrej becoming its new Chairperson. The office was filled by him effective on 14 August 2026.
Earlier, Godrej Pirojsha was named Chairperson-Designate of Godrej Industries Group in April 2026. The leadership change has been completed, and a new leadership has come into power with Nadir Godrej (now) becoming the Chairman Emeritus and J Srinivasan (now) being appointed as the Chairperson.
The leadership transition has been incorporated as a part of Godrej Group Long-Term succession planning. A part of the Godrej family, Pirojsha has been active in the Godrej ventures for many years, and has served in critical roles.
Prior to becoming Chairperson of Godrej Industries Group, Pirojsha Godrej was an Executive Chairperson of Godrej Properties and Godrej Capital. He has also contributed immensely to their development and expansion.
With this new position at Godrej Industries Group, he will be at the heart of the group’s business strategy. The group operates in various business areas, such as chemicals, consumer products, agriculture, real estate and financial services.
Nadir Godrej has been a part of the leadership of the group for several years and will continue so. The move represents yet another step in Godrej’s leadership transition.
Pirojsha has been appointed at a time when the group is emphasizing on business expansion and consolidation in various sectors. He has a wealth of expertise in real estate, finance and other fields which will be valuable in the group’s plans going forward.
Notably, though, a few reports have mentioned Pirojsha Godrej as the “Executive Chairperson” of Godrej Industries, whereas in the official announcement, it was clarified that he has been appointed as the “Chairperson of Godrej Industries Group”.
The move marks a new phase in the life of Godrej Industries Group (GIG) with Pirojsha Godrej handling more of the responsibility of driving the future. Now that the leadership has changed, the eye will be on how he leads the group in terms of businesses and future growth for the next few years.
