New Delhi: North India-focused real estate developer Omaxe Ltd has announced a ₹500 crore investment in Omaxe Chowk, a mixed-use development to come up at Ghumar Mandi in Ludhiana. The project, spanning across 5.25 acres, will feature high-end retail establishments along with residential units and related infrastructure, with an aim to make Omaxe Chowk one of the city’s biggest commercial hubs.
Omaxe bought the land parcel through a competitive bidding process conducted by the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA), and is developing it on a leasehold basis. It is being developed under an agreement between the RLDA and the Ludhiana Wholesale Market Private Limited ( a wholly owned subsidiary of Omaxe Ltd).
The project has a two-sided frontage, one from Rani Jhansi Road and the other from College Road, helping it become one of the city’s leading commercial zones with the potential of attracting shoppers. The development is also expected to offer parking for around 1,000 cars, along with pedestrian walkways and heritage-inspired architecture.
Through Omaxe Chowk, the company aims to offer shopping, luxury residences and celebration opportunities at one destination, offering a structured and engaging alternative to traditional market areas.
The company is scheduled to deliver the project by June 2030, as per RERA timelines.
