New Delhi: Nvidia has been poised to acquire AI company Hugging Face for $12.9 billion, which could make the transaction one of Nvidia’s largest purchases to date. The deal, which was reported by several sources and was confirmed by several reports, will allow Nvidia to control one of the most important orchestrators of open-source AI models and datasets.
Hugging Face has been a popular place for AI developers. Users can share, download, and use thousands of AI models and datasets on the platform for developers and researchers. Its function is comparable to a giant gathering place for open-source AI, and is a significant component of the expanding AI environment.
The stakes are high for Nvidia if the purchase is made an acquisition as opposed to another acquisition of an AI firm.
