New Delhi: At the Indian Express Awards for Women Entrepreneurs, Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, spoke about how women are becoming a powerful force in the business world. He especially highlighted his daughter Isha Ambani’s growing role in reshaping leadership at Reliance.
Ambani shared how his wife Nita and daughter Isha helped him see the importance of supporting women in leadership.
“Isha and Nita opened my mind to celebrating women in leadership roles,” he said.
He believes women entrepreneurs won’t just be in the news, they’ll be creating history by making a real impact on society.
A big part of Ambani’s speech focused on compassion in business.
He quoted Isha, saying:
“It’s not survival of the fittest; it’s survival of the kindest.”
He explained that women leaders often lead with empathy, and that kindness, not just competition, can help companies grow in a healthy, lasting way.
Ambani praised Isha for her behind-the-scenes efforts to create real change at Reliance:
Isha pushed for more women in top roles, especially in areas like retail and telecom, major Reliance-linked organizations, including a big hospital in Mumbai, are now led by women, supporting women leaders is now part of Reliance’s core values, not just a nice extra.
Tips for Aspiring Entrepreneurs
Stay focused, work hard, and don’t give up, as Isha says, setbacks are part of the journey, what matters is how you bounce back.
Ambani also talked about how Reliance is making big changes to support women:
Women are being given important, high-impact projects to lead, it’s now a key part of how Reliance does business, not just a CSR checkbox, the goal is for other companies to follow their lead.
