New Delhi: NR Narayana Murthy, the person who started Infosys, talked about a time when he was very hungry for a long time during a meeting about food security in India. He said this happened 50 years ago while he was traveling in Europe.
He was speaking to a group of people from the UN and others who work on important issues. He told them that many of them probably hadn’t felt what real hunger is like, but he had. He remembered being so hungry for 120 hours straight when he was in Europe, near a place called Nish.
Murthy also talked about the importance of being thankful for the good things we get from our country, like education. He said he got a good education thanks to the Indian government and now it’s important to help other kids who don’t have that same opportunity.
He praised a group called The Akshaya Patra Foundation for their work in providing meals to children in need. He said their success shows how important it is to include everyone in the country’s progress.
Murthy also mentioned how India is growing economically, thanks to government plans and hard work from people. He talked about big programs that help feed millions of people.
When talking about Akshaya Patra, he said they’re a great example of a partnership between the government and private groups. He liked how they use technology to make sure food is clean and delivered well.
Overall, Murthy’s talk was about the importance of making sure everyone has enough to eat, getting a good education, and working together to make India better for everyone.
