Suhel Seth, a marketing expert, has remarked that a number of Indian startups are only imitations of western businesses. This statement of his has sparked a vigorous controversy within the startup community.
Seth feels that India requires original ideas that will address domestic problems. Some founders assented and others mentioned that global ideas can also be adapted as innovation.
Analysts indicate that India should now shift towards copy model to deep tech and research based start ups.
