New Delhi: Facebook and Instagram parent company, Meta, is having a difficult year. Recently, the firm declared massive layoffs and trimmed thousands of jobs worldwide. Meanwhile, it is struggling with antitrust proceedings, privacy, and regulatory probes in multiple countries.
The layoffs have appalled the employees and observers of the industry. It is said that in the recent years Meta developed too quickly, employed more workers than necessary, and now the company is fixing its staffing numbers. The laid-off workers are also in fear of the prospects and their economic security.
Law experts indicate that governments are pressuring Meta too as a result of their concerns on its business operations.
