New Delhi: The Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) and FMCG giant Marico Limited have merged their saffola stores, creating new opportunities for growth, collaboration, and improved digital experiences in the constantly changing e-commerce environment. “Through this integration, Marico is committed to providing its stakeholders, such as distributors, retailers, suppliers, and customers, with unmatched benefits ,” the company said in a statement.
The Government of India created the ONDC network, a statewide network for digital commerce that aims to empower consumers and enterprises, By building an inclusive ecosystem to improve e-commerce penetration in India and enabling the inclusion of all types and sizes of sellers on a population scale, the programme advances the “Digital India” vision.
“While the e-commerce market in India has grown exponentially over the past decade, online FMCG retail has yet to make significant inroads into rural and semi-urban markets. Tech-led interventions such as ONDC mark a sustained effort to bring together various FMCG and retail value chain stakeholders to solve this challenge,” said Sanjay Mishra, COO of India Business and CEO of New Business, Marico Limited.
