New Delhi: India’s wealthy population is expanding, but the way wealthy entrepreneurs use their money is changing too.
A new generation of Indian wealth creators is increasingly spending and investing across businesses, technology, real estate, travel, luxury products and alternative investments.
The scale is enormous.
The 360 ONE Wealth Creators List 2026 identifies 3,040 individuals holding ₹104 lakh crore in individual equity wealth. The list includes entrepreneurs, business families, investors and other major wealth creators, showing how broad India’s private wealth ecosystem has become.
The important change is that wealth is no longer concentrated only among traditional industrial families.
Technology entrepreneurs, startup founders and professionals who have built large businesses are becoming an increasingly visible part of India’s affluent class.
This is also changing the luxury market.
Successful founders are becoming important customers for luxury automobiles, premium homes, watches, fashion, private travel and fine dining.
The luxury-car market provides one example.
BMW Group India President and CEO Hardeep Singh Brar recently pointed to a younger customer base, including startup founders and first-time luxury buyers. Gen Z and younger professionals are increasingly entering a market that was once dominated by older corporate executives and established business families.
The change is not simply about spending more money.
India’s new wealthy consumers are also becoming more interested in experiences. Travel, wellness, premium hospitality and personalised services are becoming important parts of the luxury economy.
At the same time, many entrepreneurs are reinvesting their wealth into new businesses.
Founders who have already achieved success are becoming angel investors, venture capital participants and mentors for younger startups. This creates a cycle in which one generation of entrepreneurs helps finance the next.
Real estate remains another major destination for wealth.
India’s premium residential market has expanded rapidly in cities such as Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Wealthy entrepreneurs are increasingly looking for homes that combine privacy, technology, design and amenities rather than simply large floor space.
