Increase in loans given to small businesses as banks offer more loans

New Delhi: Access to bank and non-bank financial institutions lending is also improving in the MSME sector of India where small and medium-sized companies are situated. This has relieved millions of small business people who rely on credit to operate and expand their enterprises.

In the last one year, the situation has seen banks lend more to MSMEs because there are improved loan recovery and government support schemes. The digital loan platforms, credit guarantees, and other programs have minimized risk to the lender and provided smaller firms with an easier access to borrowing.

The NBFCs are also contributing significantly by providing quicker and more flexible loans. There are several NBFCs that have digital tools and data analysis and give loans in a short period to small traders and manufacturers to fulfill their working capital requirements.

The flow of credit has also been enhanced, thus assisting MSMEs to cover day-to-day expenses, salaries and investments in new equipment. It has also assisted the businesses in industries such as textile, food processing, retail and services.
