Gujarat Unveils Fast-Track Industry Push as Govt Targets $3.5 Trillion Economy by 2047

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) organized an interactive session with the industry at GCCI premises, Ahmedabad under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister and Industries Minister Harsh Sanghvi.

Sanghvi presented the roadmap for industrial development of the state, upcoming policies and significant improvements in Ease of Doing Business, and called upon the industrialists to join hands and contribute towards the vision of ‘Developed Gujarat @ 2047’.

Senior government officials were also present in the session.

Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi said that the industry has made Gujarat the number one state in the country in terms of industrial development. He said, “You provide employment to crores of people of Gujarat and India, contribute significantly to the economic development of the country and GDP growth.”

He assured that the government stands by you, and we have to work shoulder to shoulder to take Gujarat’s industrial progress forward without any speed breaker.

Giving information about the significant improvements in the ‘Ease of Doing Business’, Sanghvi said that now the disposal of files has been made very fast in the industry department. Earlier, 230 files were processed daily, now 480 files are disposed of daily.

He added, “Our target is to take the number of files disposed of daily to 700.” Sanghvi emphasized that when an investor is investing a large amount in the industry sector of Gujarat, time is of the essence. At such times, it is the duty of the government to provide a true experience of Ease of Doing Business to industrialists and capital investors by disposing of applications and files in a timely manner.

Talking about the vision of a developed Gujarat, he said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is rapidly moving towards becoming the third largest economy in the world.

Under the guidance of the Prime Minister, Gujarat is committed to achieving the resolution of Developed India @ 2047, and the target is to take the state’s economy to $3.5 trillion US dollars by 2047.

He added that to achieve this goal, the state government is focusing on emerging sectors like semiconductors, green hydrogen, renewable energy and green growth.

He mentioned the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conferences, which will help unlock the potential of investment and collaboration at the grassroots level.

Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Sandeep Engineer, Senior Vice President Rajesh Gandhi, GCCI office bearers, high officials of the Industry Department, industrialists and representatives were present in this session.
