Mumbai: Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd has announced the commercial launch of the world’s first fixed-dose nebulised therapy for the treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). The product, which combines the efficacy of three medicines- Glycopyrronium, Formoterol, and Budesonide- aims to reduce inflammation, airway obstruction and improve lung function and symptom control for a host of lung ailments associated with COPD.
This triple therapy drug has proved its worth through a clinical study conducted in India, where it helped control breathlessness (dyspnea) and improved lung function amongst patients. This treatment aims to offer a simpler way to address COPD, especially for those who have to rely on Dry Powder Inhalers (DPI) or Metered Dose Inhalers (MDI).
