Gautam Adani’s AI Push Gains Momentum as New Data Centre Alliance Draws Industry Attention

New Delhi: India’s race to become a global artificial intelligence powerhouse received another major boost after Gautam Adani-led Adani Group announced a strategic alliance with global manufacturing giant Jabil to build an integrated AI and data centre infrastructure platform in India. The partnership is being seen as a significant step toward strengthening India’s position in the global AI supply chain and reducing dependence on imported digital infrastructure.

The alliance comes months after Adani Group unveiled a massive $100 billion investment plan to develop renewable-energy-powered, AI-ready data centres across India by 2035. The company estimates that this initiative could trigger an additional $150 billion in investments across cloud infrastructure, server manufacturing, networking equipment and related sectors, creating a potential $250 billion AI ecosystem over the next decade.

Under the latest partnership, Adani and Jabil aim to establish multi-gigawatt AI rack manufacturing capacity in India. The platform will manufacture advanced liquid-cooled AI servers, storage systems, networking hardware, transformers, power distribution units and cooling solutions required for next-generation AI data centres. Jabil, which reported nearly $29.8 billion in revenue in FY2025, brings decades of manufacturing expertise to the venture.

Industry experts believe the move aligns with the growing global demand for AI computing infrastructure. According to multiple industry estimates, AI workloads could increase global data centre electricity consumption by more than 160% by 2030. Countries capable of offering energy, computing power and manufacturing capabilities are expected to gain a competitive edge.

Adani has repeatedly argued that the future AI race will be won by nations that master both energy and compute infrastructure. His vision combines renewable energy generation, data centres, cloud services and AI hardware manufacturing into a single ecosystem. The group’s existing data centre capacity stands at around 2 GW, with plans to scale it to 5 GW in the coming years.
