Former Myntra CEO Nandita Sinha to head Swiggy Instamart as Amitesh Jha exits

New Delhi: Swiggy has officially announced a significant change in its leadership at its fast commerce arm, Instamart. The company has appointed former Myntra CEO Nandita Sinha as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Instamart. She will officially take charge on August 3, 2026, replacing Amitesh Kumar Jha, who has resigned to pursue new opportunities.

The news came out in a regulatory filing on Tuesday. Amitesh Jha’s tenure at Instamart has been very instrumental for the growth and development of this platform; Swiggy thanked him for that. Instamart, under his guidance, expanded and introduced new ventures in the company and helped improve the profitability of the company, while it fought in the quick commerce sector, which was rapidly developing in India.

Nandita Sinha joins Swiggy from where she played a key role in building and enhancing fashion e-commerce brand Myntra’s market presence. She has over 20 years of experience in the consumer space and has served with leadership roles at Flipkart, Britannia and Hindustan Unilever. Swiggy thinks her background of creating customer-centric companies is going to assist Instamart in its subsequent growth phase.

“Sriharsha Sinha is one of India’s most seasoned consumer internet leaders and is the ideal candidate to lead Swiggy’s future growth,” said Swiggy Group CEO Sriharsha Majety on the appointment. He also said her keen interest in customers, innovation, and operational excellence is just what Instamart needed to be led by. He also valued Amitesh Jha’s work on creating a successful team and improving the contribution margins of the business.

On the occasion, Nandita Sinha said that she has always been awestruck by the achievements of the team at Instamart over the years and loved the way they work. The platform is a business that has a customer-first culture, and she is excited to work with employees, partners, and customers to drive the next evolution of the business, she said.

The transition of power at this time comes when the fast commerce sector in India is growing to be a more competitive environment. The market is becoming more competitive as companies like Blinkit, Zepto, Amazon and Flipkart are beefing up their speedy delivery offerings. The appointment is a strategically significant day for Swiggy as it will be announcing quarterly financial results later this week. With its expertise in e-commerce and retail, industry sources feel that Sinha’s profile will help Instamart shore up its capabilities and boost growth in the fast-changing quick commerce segment.
