New Delhi: The Indian market has a number of fast delivery and quick commerce corporations that are being criticized due to the charges that are not on the menu and Apple-like designs of their applications. According to users, most apps introduce additional charges, taxation not clearly stated, or fee of subscription, which is not well clarified. They are sometimes referred to as the dark patterns since they deceive users to spend a lot more than they expected.
The last few years experienced the growth of quick commerce companies. A lot of individuals depend on them to procure groceries, meals and daily necessities. However, customers are currently realizing that the apps are not transparent all the time. Social media grievances have become viral, as they have been uploaded by numerous users with their screenshots displaying the additional charges.
There are also consumer rights groups that have intervened. They also argue that companies have to put all fees conspicuously in place before users pay. Analysts cautiously say such practice may hurt the trust and the number of users of such apps in the long run.
Other businesses have replied that they will be more transparent. They claimed that they are fixing the apps and sites to simplify the pricing. However, users report that they require a rapid change, otherwise they can move to other platforms.
