New Delhi: Deepinder Goyal, the founder and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Eternal Limited has decided to resign as the CEO of the company. Zomato and Blinkit are the name of popular platforms of Eternal (Parent Company). The Company declared that Goyal would step down as its CEO as early as February 1, 2026…
Following this change, Albinder Dhindsa who is the incumbent CEO of Blinkit will become the new CEO of Eternal Limited…
The founder of Zomato, Deepinder Goyal, who began this company in 2008. Initially launched as a pet project, it has gradually expanded to one of the largest food delivery services in India.
Zomato grew its business with time and ventured into new regions. The acquisition of Blinkit, which offers groceries and daily needs within a short amount of time, was one of the largest ones. The company renamed itself as Eternal Limited in 2025 to demonstrate that the company now operates more business despite the Zomato app being under the same name.
The company said that Deepinder Goyal has not quit Eternal all out. He will assume Vice Chairman position and will continue serving as a director on the company board, although this has to be approved by the shareholders after he quits the position of the company CEO. This implies that he will continue making decisions which are of great importance and long term planning but he will no longer control the day to day running of the company.
Goyal in his message outlined that there are rules, discipline and constant attention which are needed in running of a large public company. He told me that now he would prefer to spend more time in new ideas that are more risky and more innovative. Being CEO, he did not have the ability to pursue such ideas because of the position. In doing this, he thinks he would be in a position to concentrate on his creative works outside the company but at the same time helping Eternal in a mentoring capacity.
Albinder Dhindsa has been appointed as the new CEO of the company due to his effective leadership at Blinkit. Dhindsa is a long-term manager of Blinkit, who has also contributed to enhancing its functioning since it was incorporated into the Zomato group. Blinkit expanded under his management and became a valuable business unit to Eternal. The board believes that he is the right individual to head the whole group since he has experience in running fast-developing businesses.
This change of leadership comes in the times when Eternal is experiencing high financial growth. In the recent past, the company has announced that its revenue and profits have been significantly high than they were last year. The delivery food business of Zomato as well as the quick commerce by Blinkit has helped in this expansion. There is an increasing number of people ordering food on the Internet, and the rapid delivery of groceries is a new aspect of urban life. These have been the trends that have made the company perform well in the market.
As Albinder Dhindsa takes over the CEO, it is likely that Eternal would remain committed to speed, efficiency, and technology-based services. His experience in fast business can contribute to the firm to develop its delivery system and enhancement of customer satisfaction. Simultaneously, the presence of Deepinder Goyal as the Vice Chairman will assist in keeping the company on track towards its original vision and values.
