Mumbai: Bajel Projects Limited, a Bajaj Group company, has signed a contract to construct a 500kV high voltage transmission line in Cairo, Egypt worth about ₹400 crore. The project, awarded by the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) involves engineering and designing the towers, route surveys, and structural engineering for the 500 kV overhead lines along with complete construction of the line for this Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) order. This contract win marks a significant milestone for the company, which is aiming to expand its footprint across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The order is part of Egypt’s flagship national grid reinforcement programme, aimed at strengthening the country’s high voltage transmission backbone, allowing the country to support its growing economic and industrial demand.
For Bajel Projects, this complements its growing MENA presence, including its 50:50 joint venture with the Al Sharif Group in Saudi Arabia and its recently launched subsidiary in Abu Dhabi for EPC projects as well.
