New Delhi, August 22: Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai will provide a more selective experience to its visitors, thanks to its new collaboration with American Express. The two groups are partnering to provide special access to certain arts, entertainment and hospitality events at NMACC to qualifying American Express cardholders.
As part of the agreement, American Express will serve as NMACC’s Preferred Payments Partner. Benefits available for eligible cardholder include free tickets to select productions, free tickets to select shows, special dining privileges and special services. They will also have an increased opportunity to participate in the cultural activities at NMACC.
A more premium way to experience culture
The collaboration may transform the way that audience members view art and entertainment at NMACC. Eligible guests are encouraged to participate in a show or exhibition which features the option of dining and premium programme.
Also, if you can see some of these shows at the start, they are more likely to be popular, so if you are a member of American Express, it is easier to plan these shows. This offers another means for NMACC to fortify relationships with audiences who have an interest in premium cultural experiences.
The shift is part of a broader effort by American Express to provide value-added services to customers, beyond mere financial transactions. As the company continues to leverage access to the experiences as an additional value-add to membership on the card, its usage is growing.
Boost for Indian and global arts
The initiative can also be seen as a part of NMACC’s broader vision to bridge the gap between Indian and international art and audiences in India. NMACC has emerged as a hub for showcasing global art productions in India and also promoting Indian artistic heritage.
American Express are marketing special experiences to their card holders which could lead their customer base to the discovery of NMACC’s performances, exhibitions and cultural programmes. This may stimulate the overall interest of the Centre’s programming.
The partnership is Nita Mukesh Ambani’s cultural venture’s other major corporate link that it continues to add to its cultural platform. It also reinforces NMACC as a place to experience art, entertainment, hospitality and top-tier experiences.
What it means for NMACC
It cannot alter the core work of NMACC but can affect the interaction of some audiences with the centre. The benefits might become more “personalised” if they are more menu-oriented, early access + hospitality services.
Meanwhile, the rewards promised thus far are for those cards that are eligible to American Express card members and certain programmes. So, it is not a partnership in that every NMACC event will be a cardholder’s exclusive event.
Overall, the American Express-NMACC partnership is a step towards making cultural experiences more connected with premium lifestyle services. When expanded over time it can foster increased partnerships between financial brands and cultural institutions, and new opportunities for consumers to enjoy the developing arts and entertainment offerings in India.
