Ambani Says India Can Build ‘100 New Reliances’ Through Startups

New Delhi: Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani has once again highlighted the importance of India’s startup ecosystem, saying that the country has the potential to create “100 new Reliances” if young entrepreneurs receive the right opportunities, funding, and policy support. His statement reflects the growing belief that startups will play a major role in shaping India’s economic future over the next decade.

Ambani said India is witnessing an entrepreneurial revolution, with thousands of startups solving problems in areas such as healthcare, education, agriculture, fintech, artificial intelligence, logistics, and clean energy. According to him, today’s startups are not just creating businesses but also generating employment, encouraging innovation, and improving the quality of life for millions of people.

He emphasized that technology has made it easier for entrepreneurs to build companies from small towns as well as large cities. With better internet connectivity, digital payments, cloud computing, and AI tools becoming widely available, young founders now have access to resources that were once limited to large corporations.

Ambani also pointed out that collaboration between established businesses and startups can speed up innovation. Large companies can provide mentorship, investment, market access, and technical support, while startups bring fresh ideas, speed, and new business models. This partnership, he believes, can help India compete more effectively on the global stage.

Industry experts agree that India has become one of the world’s fastest-growing startup ecosystems. The country continues to attract domestic and international investors despite temporary funding slowdowns. Government initiatives such as Startup India, Digital India, and improvements in digital infrastructure have further encouraged entrepreneurial growth.

Business analysts believe that India’s young population, expanding internet usage, and rising consumer demand create a strong foundation for building globally competitive companies. However, they also note that startups need easier access to capital, skilled talent, and long-term policy stability to grow successfully.
