New Delhi, September 18: Cement manufacturer Dalmia Bharat Limited has incorporated a new step down subsidiary, AMPL Green City Solutions Private Limited, as it looks to venture into the growing waste management sector. Dalmia Bharat has been at the forefront of sustainable cement manufacturing, having a 84% share in the low carbon blended cement market.
Given that Dalmia Bharat has doubled its production capacity in the past ten years, it is now working to expand on this by venturing into the waste management sector. As of now, the company has just incorporated the subsidiary, with no further announcements made, but this could be the start of a new mission by the Dalmia Group, as it looks to secure a sustainable, long term play in India’s infrastructure development sector.
With the cement sector being vulnerable to price swings and demand fluctuations, venturing into the waste-to-energy and waste-to-resource sector helps Dalmia Bharat create a captive source of alternative fuels to insulate it from volatile petcoke and coal prices in the future.
It also strengthens Dalmia Bharat’s ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) roadmap, helping it strengthen its industrial growth while maintaining its sustainable pledge in tandem.
