Ahmedabad: Adani Ports and SEZ Limited (APSEZ) has won a 10 year contract to export Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) from Argentina to India through its JV subsidiary, Meridian Transportes Marítimos S.A. Under the contract, APSEZ will provide end to end marine services, including tugboat operations for LNG carriers, offshore logistics and crew transfer services. This will be supported by four high specification tugboats, including one anchor handling tug supply vessel.
This is the first time India will import LNG from Argentina, with a 10 year contract to commence from 2027. It was awarded by a globally competitive tender process by the Southern Energy S.A. (SESA), strengthening APSEZ’s presence across international energy logistics.

The LNG will be imported from the Southern Energy FLNG Project located in the San Matías Gulf in Argentina’s Rio Negro province, with commercial LNG operations to begin in September 2027. The Adani Group, along with its JV partner Meridian Group, is investing $70 million in the project.
This marks the fifth international project by APSEZ, following its operations in Sri Lanka (Colombo port), Israel (Haifa port), Tanzania (multiple operations) and the UAE.
