Step into nostalgia: Windows XP Crocs Sweepstakes is here

New Delhi: Microsoft just opened sweepstakes for their Windows XP-themed Crocs, and users have until October 7 to enter. These dropped as an employee exclusive back in August for $80, but now the only way to get them is through the raffle. These Crocs come with the Windows XP iconic wallpaper, which is very popular among users who used Windows XP, and on these Crocs, it comes with sky blue upper and white clouds on the top, and on the bottom part, it is colored with green rolling hills.

It also comes with Clippy the paperclip assistant, Internet Explorer logo, MSN butterfly, desktop folder icon, recycle bin, and the classic mouse pointer. The matching drawstring backpack also shows the bliss wallpaper. Microsoft initially offered these to employees for $80 in August, and internal stock moved fast. Users can check Microsoft’s official rules for the sweepstakes here; their wording around the number of prizes is a little unclear. They seem to imply that only one pair will be given away, but they also make it more repeatable for multiple winners.

The only risk would be Microsoft potentially opening these up for public retail stores later. Some reports suggested that the wider release was always planned, though nothing’s confirmed. If they announce the retail availability, early resale prices will drop immediately. For now, they are sweepstakes exclusive, which creates scarcity and short-term hype.
