Aforro, a young-age online grocery delivery startup, is embarking on a transformative journey with a dream to bring the ease of modern grocery shopping to underserved cities across India. Co-founded by the dynamic sibling duo, Rachit Gupta and Harshit Kr. Gupta, the startup aims to leverage cutting-edge technology to redefine the grocery shopping experience for users, making it not only efficient but completely effortless. At the heart of Aforro lies a deep commitment to serving cities that have often been overlooked in the fast-paced world of online commerce. The founders envision a future where every household in underserved cities has access to quality groceries with just a tap on their phones. The startup aims to bridge gaps, and revolutionize the way people in these cities shop for their daily essentials. As first-generation entrepreneurs, Rachit and Harshit found their motivation emanating from the combination of personal drive, a desire to bring change, and the pursuit of a shared dream. They saw entrepreneurship as a means to not only shape their own destiny but to make a meaningful impact as well. With limited resources, they started small, building a simple, easy-to-use mobile application to take orders and coordinate deliveries. They took various roles on themselves, from order picking to delivery and customer support, to keep the costs low and maintain control over the quality of their service. It was a challenging journey, as they faced numerous technical issues, logistical hurdles, supply shortages, and doubts along the way. Slowly but steadily, their startup gained traction. Customers appreciated their personalized approach, reliable deliveries, and commitment to providing high-quality products. Their commitment to customer satisfaction played a crucial role in gaining trust and loyalty. They prioritized prompt and reliable deliveries, ensured freshness of products, and provided exceptional customer service.
The journey of Rachit and Harshit has been one marked by resilience. Both co-founders have openly shared their battles with mental health issues, including Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), depression and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Instead of being obstacles, these challenges have become sources of strength and determination for them.
“Our personal struggles have shaped the empathetic and compassionate approach that defines Aforro. We understand the importance of mental health and aim to build a workplace and service that prioritizes the well-being of our team and users alike,” says Rachit, CEO and Founder.
The sibling duo plans to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) to understand and anticipate user preferences, creating a personalized and intuitive shopping journey with the goal to make grocery shopping not just a transaction but a seamless and enjoyable experience for every user.
The vision for Aforro goes beyond just delivering groceries; it aspires to become the most customer-centric company in India. With a strong commitment to transparency, reliability, and continuous improvement, the startup aims to create a loyal and satisfied user base.
“Aforro is more than a business; it’s a commitment to our users. We want to redefine the standards of customer service in the industry, ensuring that every interaction with our platform is a positive and memorable one,” adds Harshit, Co-founder and COO.
In just 8 months of the official launch of their user app, they have onboarded more than 1000 users, and crossed a million (INR) in revenue, the possibilities of which were quite bearish initially. Starting this venture has been a transformative experience for both the founders. The journey has taught them the power of resilience, grit and the ability to turn challenges into opportunities. They remain committed to making a positive impact and empowering the underserved cities, one delivery at a time.
