Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], September 26: The Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries (IAAPI) is an apex body representing the interests of Amusement Parks, Theme Parks, Water Parks and Family Entertainment Centre in India. IAAPI is a non-government, not-for-profit, industry-led and industry-managed organization playing a proactive role in the development of this sector.
Founded in 1999, IAAPI is India’s premier business association having 461 members from the private sector, including small and medium enterprises, which mainly consist of park operators and equipment manufacturers. Globally renowned, IAAPI is also affiliated with various international trade bodies operating in the Amusement sector. Extending its agenda beyond business, IAAPI has been making conscious efforts to concretise the entire industry under one umbrella with a focus on promoting tourism, employment generation, safety, and national integration, it has also enabled potential investors to invest in this sunrise industry.
Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries (IAAPI) has recently announced two appointments to the board: Shrikant Goenka – Chairman, and Ankur Maheshwari – Vice Chairman. As a Chairman, Mr. Shrikant Goenka has been actively involved with various initiatives and committees of the association. He chaired the Manufacturers and Export Promotion (MEP) Indoor Amusement Centre (IAC) committee. He is also the Director of Premierworld Technology, which is one of the largest manufacturers and exporters in India of musical and architectural fountains with multimedia shows, creative lighting, 5D virtual reality shows, and adventure mazes.
Mr. Ankur Maheshwari, the newly appointed Vice Chairman of IAAPI, is the Founder and Director of Modern Group of Companies. In 2010, after joining an existing family business, he diversified into the field of mechatronics technology, which had the family venturing into the manufacturing of simulation-based amusement products. The company owns the retail brand Masti Zone, which has a pan-India presence.
Keeping the end users in mind, IAAPI is a body to influence the decision of the policymakers, investors, the society and lead in an ever-growing amusement industry in India. IAAPI serves as a reference point for the Indian Amusement and entertainment sector.
