New Delhi (India): Sreenivas Munnuswamy Radha Addanki Trust Ayurway (SMRATA) came forward to sponsor Venu, who is competing in the Inter District National Skating Competition this week. Venu, who hails from a remote part of Godhavari Khani, has been interested in Skating right from the time he was in class 7. His poor economic background did not support him to pursue this interest. Venu’s father works in a private company, but his meagre salary can hardly meet the family’s minimum needs.
Despite the dire poverty, Venu always was interested in sports and moved ahead to compete in skating competitions both at the school and college levels. He was very excited when he got to know that he was selected for the Inter District National Skating Competition. However, Venu did not have the shoes and the required helmet and costume to participate. He reached out to some donors, and it was then that Dr. Sarat Addanki, founder of SMRATA, stepped forward to sponsor Venu with all the required material to compete in the event.
Dr.Sarat Addanki is an Ayurvedic doctor from California College of Ayurveda with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Osmania University. He is a highly accomplished entrepreneur and a quality assurance professional. He founded SMRATA after he lost his mother to Cancer and his dear Friend to covid. SMRATA aims to give equal opportunity to all. Hence, its initiatives revolve around helping the poor and marginalised communities in the field of Education and Healthcare. So far, SMRATA has supported the education of over 200 students and has also been involved in several initiatives in the field of Healthcare.
